Our annual pig roast to celebrate the summer solstice will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 starting at 7 p.m. Price is $30 per person, $25 for under 21 and designated drivers. For your entertainment, we have booked Los Radiators to play during dinner. We are still working on the menu with Blue Plate Special. In addition to the slow pit-roasted pig, there will be an ample assortment of side dishes including vegetarian options.
In addition to our regular wines, we are bringing back Midnight and releasing our 2004 New Mexico Blackberry for the event. As always, there is serious danger that I might find another interesting wine or two in the cellar between now and then. And who knows what I might pull out of the library before the evening is finished.

GATHERING OF SPIRITS
We have moved Gathering of Spirits, our annual Blues Festival benefiting Wildlife West Nature Park, to the same weekend. We have an excellent lineup of blues musicians for the event.
Blue Plate is bringing their portable kitchen out for the weekend and will be serving hot and cold selections both days during the Blues Festival. You are welcome to bring your own picnic and non-alcoholic drinks if you like.
The horses are off to summer camp. We, therefore, have lots of space for those who wish to bring a camper or tent and spend the night here Saturday instead of driving home. I will have fresh coffee and pastries for anyone who crawls out of the bushes on Sunday morning.
Winery Partner, Stagefright Slim, who will be playing on Sunday, was in the sound studio last week recording his first CD. The CD will consist of 19 of his original compositions for the blues guitar. Although the official CD release party will take place at the winery in mid-July (stay tuned), advanced copies of the CD will be available on Sunday at Gathering of Spirits.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be another great weekend in the Historic Village of Placitas. Any help in promoting the weekend would be appreciated. Tell your friends. Better yet, bring your friends.
